Irish Premiere of Death And the Maiden  (1994)  by Ariel Dorfman

Dates : Sunday 20 February 1994 - Tuesday 08 March 1994
Theatre : Old Museum Arts Centre

Untitled Set in a country undergoing the painful transition from brutal dictatorship to fledgling democracy, Death And The Maiden explores the dilemma of an individual's right for justice against a country's need for reconciliation and peace.
Paulina Salas is a victim of the past regime's unacknowlegded brutalities. Through a series of coincidences she finds herself face to face with the man she believes to be resposible. Made impotent by the new Government's decision to prosecute only those atrocities that ended in death, she takes justice into her own hands.
