" Has it finally come to this, is my soul now nothing more than a pigsty?"
Pigshit and time. The two main concerns of Pavel Navrotsky, a deserter from the Soviet Army in the second World War, who was presumed killed in action and declared dead. I reality, he hides in a pigsty, dependent on his wife for both sustenance and secrecy. But, ten years on, the local war memorial is about to be revealed- should Pavel come clean?
The agonies of Pavel, the man who thinks too much and acts too little.
Ger Ryan - winner of EMA Best Actress Award 1992 for A Place With The Pigs

"" It is neccessary at intervals during A Place With The Pigs, to pinch oneself mentally in recognition of the spiritual and dramatic enormity. Both Lalor Roddy and Ger Ryan turn in performances, which are remarkable for their discipline, their honesty, their startling black humour and their realisation of a touching love story, which goes right to the heart of the human condition"" The Irish Times |
