Prime Cut Productions in association with The Waterfront Hall, Belfast celebrated the centenary of Samuel Beckett’s birth with a major new production of his masterpiece Endgame. Beckett’s dark comedy finds the blind tyrant Hamm, and his shambling sidekick Clov trapped in a strange room in a desolate world. Along with the decrepit Nagg and Nell who are confined to a pair of dustbins – this absurd duo pass the time toying with the hopelessness of the situation, all along sensing the inevitability of their end.
"Prime Cut productions is the first out of the traps to celebrate Beckett's centenary with an excellent, respectful production of his 1957 one-act masterpiece Endgame" four stars The Guardian 8/02/06
" Mark Lambert's compelling production for Prime Cut, finds laughter at the most unlikely junctures" The Irish Times 6/02/06
"This clearly characterised and superbly shaded Prime Cut production should be prescribed viewing" Newsletter 7/02/06
" Director Mark Lambert skilfully combines first class production values with a clear, vivid reading of Beckett's bleak, spare text, delivering a sprightly, mischievous take on a play whose resonances, in the surreal humour of popular culture, rear their heads around every turn of our own daily existence " The Stage
" Samuel Beckett's nihilistic view is given voice in Prime Cut's splendid production of Endgame..Dont miss it. The Belfast Telegraph 6/02/06
