Dalton Chance, fifteen, and an open book.
Pace Creagan, seventeen, brimful of adventure, fearless and feared.
To Dalton, she’s irresistible.
To Pace, he’s a challenge.
Its 1936 in an America town so desolate that the only thing the teenagers can pit themselves against, the only thing greater than them is the 7.10 train. To outrun the train is to feel alive and powerful. There is no margin for error; the trestle has no sides, and there is no water in the creek below.
“The excellent Prime Cut revives Naomi Wallace's shimmering and passionately political coming of age story set in a small American town during the dark days of the depression” The Guardian Pick of the week three weeks in a row.
“ This Prime Cut Irish premiere of Naomi Wallace's lyrical play, does not flinch once from either the personal or political reality of emotionally and spiritually barren lives... A beautiful and sadly topical play.” The Irish Times 28th Oct
" Paul Mallon is wonderful as the gauche Dalton Chance,a great cast ....a powerful play " BBC Arts Extra
“With Patrick O Kane’s delicate direction, a superb script and talented cast, Prime Cut Productions have brought us another high quality piece of theatre.” www.Culturenorthernireland.org
